GoCritic! Animafest Zagreb 2026
The next GoCritic! workshop in partnership with the Animation Festival Network will take place at the World Festival of Animated Film – Animafest Zagreb in Croatia from 8-13 June 2026. Six promising international film journalists and critics will work with tutors Vladan Petković and Ana Stanić on reviews, interviews, industry stories and essays focused on the animation scene, both in written and video form. These articles will be published on Cineuropa and Zippy Frames.

Lucas Legović
Lucas Legović is a film critic, literary critic, cultural worker, and graduate student of Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. He writes reviews and literary critiques for the portals Kulturpunkt, Booksa, Mreža antifašistkinja Zagreb and film journal Hrvatski filmski ljetopis. He is editor-in-chief of the upcoming issue of k., a student journal for literary and cultural theory as well as head of organisation for student conference LORE. He is the founder of the Kino A214 film programme, organised by students with the aim of promoting Croatian short films.
Fortunata (Tino) Manenti
Fortunata (Tino) Manenti is an early-career audiovisual researcher, programmer and cultural producer from Southern Italy, based in Utrecht (Netherlands). Their work centers on queer filmmaking, intersectional cinema and arthouse & experimental aesthetics, exploring identity, representation and film's transformative power in cultural discourse. A recent MA graduate in Film and Television Cultures from Utrecht University, they have been active in screening club programming and the UEFA critics' group. Their experience includes archival research at the Pier Paolo Pasolini Study Center in Bologna, youth jury coordination at the Leiden International Film Festival and editorial work through the Media Outreach & Inclusion Programme at IFFR.
Magdalena Nieświec
Magdalena Nieświec is a film scholar and critic collaborating with Krakow Film Festival, International Film Festival Etiuda & Anima and Five Flavours Asian Film Festival. She is the winner of the first edition of the Jagoda Murczyńska Award for Asian Cinema Criticism. In 2023, she participated as a member of the 17th International People's Jury at Five Flavours, and in 2025 she attended the GoCritic! and MIOB Lab international workshops for young film critics. She publishes mainly in Asian Movie Pulse, and her texts have also appeared in EKRANy, Filmweb, culture.pl and Ubiquarian.net.
Ilo Tuule Rajand
Ilo Tuule Rajand is an Estonia-based writer and culture critic whose work focuses on film, theatre and video games. She studied Semiotics and Cultural Studies at the University of Tartu and has experience in festival programming and curatorial work. She is interested in connecting different artistic disciplines while maintaining a strong conceptual throughline. She has taken part in Talking Shorts’ European Workshop for Film Criticism (2024/2025) and the FIPRESCI Warsaw Critics Project (2025).
Viktor Toth
Viktor Toth is an Italian-born Hungarian with a background in foreign literature and cinema studies. In his work as a film critic, he has centered his work on East European cinema. Known for East European Flicks, the Substack-Instagram publication, he has also collaborated with the Italian outlet East Journal since 2022, covering the main European film festivals. He has also collaborated with ODG Magazine, InTrieste and Filmvilág, among others.
Eda Üner
Eda Üner is a Turkish-Romanian film enthusiast and emerging critic with a background in communication studies. Raised in different countries, she began writing at an early age, contributing to several blogs and later serving as a jury member for the Cinema Prize of students (Prix Cinéma des étudiants) for France Culture in 2020, 2021 and 2022. After completing a French high school in Türkiye, she continued her studies in France, where she now works as project coordinator for CinEuro, an INTERREG project fostering a cross-border audiovisual and cinematographic hub between France, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and Switzerland. She publishes essays about films and other topics on Medium and Substack.
