GoCritic! is excited to continue its partnership with the Animation Festival Network by kicking of the 2025–26 season with another workshop at Animateka (1–7 December 2025) in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Five promising international film journalists and critics will work with tutor Neil Young on reviews, interviews, industry stories and essays focused on the animation scene. These articles will be published on Cineuropa and Zippy Frames.

Lucas Legović
Lucas Legović is a film critic, literary critic, cultural worker and graduate student of Comparative Literature at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. He writes reviews and literary critiques for the portals Kulturpunkt, Booksa, Mreža antifašistkinja Zagreb and film journal Hrvatski filmski ljetopis. He is one of the editors of the upcoming issue of k., a student journal for literary and cultural theory as well as head of organisation for student conference LORE.

Rino Lu
Rino Lu is a London-based film critic, curator and artist with an MRes in Art: Theory and Philosophy from Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. His criticism engages with global cinema through philosophical and socio-political perspectives. As an accredited press journalist, he has covered major festivals including Cannes, Venice, Berlin and BFI London, contributing bilingually to World Screen, Asian Movie Pulse, Flip Screen, Deep Focus, Naiguan Film and Aside From Books, among others. He was selected for the UK-China Film Collab Future Programme 2025 and has served on juries at the Five Flavours Asian Film Festival, Cornwall Film Festival and Wicked Wales.

Lehel Fazakas
Lehel Fazakas is a Romanian-Hungarian film enthusiast who does everything he can to stay close to cinema. A graduate in film directing, he is currently completing his MA degree in film studies. He regularly publishes film reviews and essays, mainly within the Hungarian and Transylvanian context. At present, he works as a projectionist in art cinemas and at various film festivals, including the Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF).

Magdalena Nieświec
Magdalena Nieświec is a film scholar and critic collaborating with Krakow Film Festival, International Film Festival Etiuda & Anima and Five Flavours Asian Film Festival. She is the winner of the first edition of the Jagoda Murczyńska Award for Asian Cinema Criticism. In 2023, she participated as a member of the 17th International People's Jury at Five Flavours, and in 2025 she attended the GoCritic! and MIOB Lab international workshops for young film critics. She publishes mainly in Asian Movie Pulse, and her texts have also appeared in EKRANy, Filmweb, culture.pl and Ubiquarian.net.

Viktor Toth
Viktor Toth is an Italian-born Hungarian with a background in foreign literature and cinema studies. In his work as a film critic, he has centered his work on East European cinema. Known for East European Flicks, the Substack-Instagram publication, he has also collaborated with the Italian outlet East Journal since 2022, covering the main European film festivals. He has also collaborated with ODG Magazine, InTrieste, and Filmvilág, among others.
