Call to revamp film industry in Ghana

A Ghanaian playwright, James Ebo-White has emphasized the need for Ghanaians to attach great importance to the film industry in order to develop the country’s culture. He said culture is the life blood of every economy and developing it will project the country both home and abroad.
According to him culture sharpens and influences the way of life of a people.
Mr. James Ebo White popularly known as Uncle Ebo-White made these remarks at the maiden launch of Anansefest 2009 Awards in Accra.
Anansefest is a film authored by selected second cycle institutions titled “The Journey so far.”
It portrays the attitude of the youth in their quest to get rich quick. Social vices such as engaging in sakawa, smoking and sexual promiscuity were highlighted.
Uncle Ebo who was also the Chairman for the occasion encouraged the youth to engage in creative works. This he noted will unearth their talents for the development of the country.
He challenged the youth to have confidence in themselves and not to put all their hopes in travelling outside for greener pastures.
