Après avoir été presque complètement boudé aux Golden Globes, The King’s Speech [+lire aussi :

fiche film], de Tom Hooper, a plus de chances de triompher sur son propre sol, avec le nombre royal de 14 nominations aux BAFTAs.

Le film concourt notamment dans les catégories meilleur film, meilleure photographie, costumes, montage, maquillage et coiffure, meilleure musique, meilleur son et film britannique exceptionnel. Tom Hooper est en outre en lice pour le BAFTA du meilleur réalisateur et Colin Firth pour celui du meilleur acteur. Helena Bonham Carter et Geoffrey Rush ont quant à eux été nominés pour leurs seconds rôles.

Black Swan est second dans la course avec 12 nominations. Suivent Inception avec neuf nominations, 127 Hours et True Grit avec huit chacun, puis The Social Network avec six nominations.
