Scripted by Steinsbø from Norwegian author Ingvar Ambjørnsen’s novel, Doll in the Ceiling is one of the three Norwegian entries in the programme, starring Norwegian actress Siren Jørgensen as 38-year-old Rebekka, who sets out to take revenge on the man who raped her sister and drove her to suicide. Under a false identity, she seeks him out and embeds herself in his idyllic family step by step in order to take away everything that is precious to him and destroy his life.

Set against the backdrop of the fjords in Western Norway, the film will be staged by Norwegian-German producer Kristine Knudsen, of Norway’s Den siste skilling AS, together with Canadian producer Paul Barkin, of Toronto’s Alcina Pictures. It is executive-produced by US producer Lisa G Black, of Garnet Girl LLC.

shot to number one on the local charts in 2013, taking 822,470 admissions, will co-direct his new effort, Knutsen & Ludvigsen and the Horrible Rasputin, with his Norwegian colleague Rune Spaans. Produced by Tordenfilm, the animated road movie stars Norwegian musical duo Knutsen & Ludvigsen as they embark upon a cross-country adventure to help Amanda save her father from a super villain.

The third Norwegian project at Göteborg is Norwegian director Aasne Vaa Greibrokk’s All the Beauty, from Motlys (Yngve Sæther and Hans-Jørgen Osnes).

Besides the 16 works in progress (with six more featured in the Nordic Film Lab Discovery talent showcase), Edström has also programmed 14 upcoming television productions within the TV Drama Vision event (28-29 January), in addition to screenings for 22 fresh Scandinavian feature films.
