The TorinoFilmLab production awards were presented at the end of the 10th Meeting Event last Saturday as part of the 35th Turin Film Festival, with prizes awarded to projects from all over the world, including Italy, Southeast Asia and Colombia. Among the 12 advanced development projects presented as part of the FeatureLab program (read the news here), the international jury lead by the president of the National Cinema Museum in Turin, Laura Milani, and including filmmakers Karim Aïnouz, Tala Hadid, Anna Rose Holmer and the producer Georges Schoucair, chose to award the two TFL Production Awards (€50,000 each) to Sole [+lire aussi :

by Carlo Francisco Manatad (Philippines/France/Singapore), the story of a mother and son facing the consequences of a devastating typhoon, and Taste by Le Bao (Singapore/Vietnam), the story of a Nigerian immigrant in Saigon. The latter also won the ARTE International Prize (€6,000). The CNC Award(€8,000), set up this year and devoted to the development of one of the ScriptLab - Original & Adaptation Program projects, was awarded to the Greek feature Selene66 by Jacqueline Lentzou.

The 10th edition of TFL came to a close with the Turin lab, which has a total of 79 films to its name (11 released this year), with 20 due to enter production in 2018, dozens of awards won at major world festivals and numerous Oscar nominations (six this year alone, including A Ciambra [+lire aussi :

Only a few days remain before the deadline for applications to participate in the next TFL ScriptLab closes (deadline is 1 December 2017), with a little more time for FeatureLab applications, with the deadline for applications closing on 1 March 2018. Piloted this year, TorinoFilmLab has also started offering its skills for the training and development of film projects that aren’t in selection, with TFL Extended, a new program that organises customised workshops focusing on audience design, production and TV series. The first workshop is due to be held between March and April 2018 in Turin, and will focus on television series.
