Once again this year, the San Sebastián Film Festival has served as a great meeting point for the European and Latin American film industries. Yesterday, at the 66th edition of the gathering, the awards were dished out within its various industry sections, which unspooled from 22-26 September.
The big winner in Films in Progress 34 was The Sharks [+lire aussi :

fiche film], a project directed by first-timer Lucía Garibaldi, and being produced by Uruguay and Argentina. “For us, it was already like a prize just being here, and now we’re going home with two more awards – what more could we ask for?” pondered producer Pancho Magnou when picking up the accolade.
The winner of the second edition of Glocal in Progress was Lithuanian director Ignas Jonynas with his new movie, Invisible [+lire aussi :

As for the seventh Europe-Latin American Co-production Forum, the victors were The Jungle, by Swiss director Matthias Huser (best known for his feature debut, They Chased Me Through Arizona [+lire aussi :

Lastly, at the fourth edition of the Ikusmira Berriak training workshop, which selected projects by Manuel Abramovich, Grigory Kolomytsev, Arantza Santesteban, Nele Wohlatz and Elena López Riera, it was the latter director, who so far has helmed a number of short films that have been festooned with awards at major festivals, who scooped the REC Grabaketa Estudioa Post-production Award for her project Water.
