 by Arne Toonen in Macedonia, Albania and Croatia, dubbed in the languages of the three countries. It is the largest video-on-demand service in the Balkan region with a focus on Balkan and European films.

The CineSquare project is designed as a unique concept that covers 13 territories in Southeast Europe with a potential reach to 140 million people with partnerships with local and European partners, and is the only one that has films from this part of the world. CineSquare's key innovation is its ability to use the internet’s capacity and the good infrastructure in the region and the habits of the Balkan viewer that is very active online for sharing to bring creative cinema to a wider audience.

The service supported by MEDIA Creative Europe, Eurimages and the Macedonian Film Agency is available as pay-per-view to all viewers in 13 countries, who will register and log in on the platform and can watch films from the comfort of their own homes on desktop, laptop, tablet and mobile phone.

With the grant received from MEDIA Creative Europe, Cinesquare has implemented SVOD model and is implementing also AVOD model.

The content of the platform is feature films and documentaries, as well as short films majority Balkan films and European films.

The catalogue is over 800 films + signed and negotiated, translated into several SEE languages, which will continuously increase. It offers more than 20 collections curated in-house. 83,6% are European feature films, documentaries, animations and shorts that have been released in theaters at least in their production countries

Cinesquare has found a niche in the market – it gives Balkan and European independent films a second life beyond their theatrical exposure. It develops exclusive cross-marketing operations with festivals and events in order to promote the European content.

Cinesquare is a member of EUROVOD, the association of European Video on Demand platforms specialised in art-house, independent and European cinema.

Special features of Cinesquare are:

Seeonline Film Festival: 1st online film festival in the Balkans. A seasonal film (4 times per year) with four categories: Feature, Documentary, Animation and Short (next editions: March 2019, June 2019, September 2019 and December 2019)

Country in Focus: Cinesquare offers promotions of films from individual countries for a limited time setting up a dedicated channel under the platform’s umbrella.

Online Rooms: An original opportunity to sales agents, funds, festivals and institutions which set up their own dedicated channels under the platform’s umbrella

Kidsquare: Creating a more diverse VoD offer to educate a new audience and attract more young viewers through subtitled and dubbed films

Day-and-date and festival-to-date releases: Two successful day-and-date releases in cooperation with cinemas in 3 different countries and three successful festival-to-date releases in collaboration with two film festivals in two countries
