It's been another knockout market for Italian sales company True Colours, with multiple deals closed on several titles in its line-up at Berlin’s European Film Market. Top of the list is The Invisible Witness [+lire aussi :

by Stefano Mordini, produced by Picomedia with Warner Bros Entertainment Italia. The thriller, starring Riccardo Scamarcio in the lead role, will be distributed in Japan (Interfilm), South Korea (Entermode) and Taiwan (Swallow Wings). These agreements are in addition to those already signed for France (Wild Side), the former Yugoslavia (Stars Media) and Bulgaria (6A Media) during the EFM. Negotiations are ongoing for China, Benelux and Israel.

There were also some impressive results for the family comedy When Mom is Away [+lire aussi :

, which is currently dominating the Italian box office, having grossed more than €4.5 million in its first two weeks on release. Alessandro Genovesi’s movie, produced by Colorado Film, has been sold to Spain (Alfa Pictures), Estonia (Estin Film) and Greece (Weird Wave). The same production company was also behind Let Me Introduce You to Sofia [+lire aussi :

, a comedy by Guido Chiesa, which has been sold to Selecta Vision for Spain.

Another family film has been very successful at Berlin: the Lucky Red production The Legend of the Christmas Witch [+lire aussi :

by Michele Soavi. After having secured previously announced sales in the USA and the UK (Jansen Media), France (Program Store), Switzerland (Morandini Film Distribution) and Germany (Smart Media), it will be released in Latin America by SUN Distribution. The film proved to be the most successful Italian title of late 2018, with more than €7 million taken at the box office and one million admissions recorded. Negotiations for the film are also ongoing in Poland.

Another box-office smash, The King’s Musketeers [+lire aussi :

, directed by Giovanni Veronesi, has piqued the interest of international buyers. The film, which grossed more than €5 million at the Italian box office, has been sold by True Colours to Sonamu (South Korea), Stars Media (the former Yugoslavia) and 6A Media (Bulgaria). The same Bulgarian company has also closed a deal for Amazing Leonardo, a biopic on Leonardo da Vinci produced by Sky and scheduled to be released in Italy by Lucky Red in the final quarter of 2019. The film has also been acquired by Palace Films for Australia, which has added the previous arthouse film in the series, Michelangelo Endless, to its distribution slate as well. The latter title has also secured a deal for release in Russia, through Pilotkino. 

A huge buzz is being generated around the upcoming title An Almost Ordinary Summer [+lire aussi :

, the sophomore feature by Simone Godano, produced by Groenlandia and Picomedia, and scheduled to be released in Italy by Warner Bros Entertainment Italia on 28 February. True Colours presented a promo of the film during the EFM, and negotiations are already under way for the USA and Benelux, while very strong interest has been shown by Hong Kongese, Polish and South Korean distributors. 

Additional contracts have been inked by managing director Catia Rossi and her team for the action-thriller Ride [+lire aussi :

by Jacopo Rondinelli, which has been acquired by KSM for Germany and the German-speaking territories, as well as Edoardo De Angelis’ Toronto-premiered drama The Vice of Hope [+lire aussi :
