Starring Toni Servillo and Jean Reno, this second thriller of Donato Carrisi’s has been sold in 25 countries and sees him donning the cap of director and scriptwriter once again. Filming kicked off in March at the Cinecittà studios, where all the sets have been built, and is scheduled to last for a total of 7 weeks. Also featuring American star, Dustin Hoffman, alongside multi-award-winning actor of Italian and international cinema, Toni Servillo, the first image taken from the film was released by the production team yesterday.
Into the Labyrinth tells the story of Samantha (Valentina Bellè) who’s abducted en route to school by a giant rabbit. Fifteen years later, she’s in hospital. She’s in shock but she’s alive, with Doctor Green beside her, trying to help her remember. Together, they negotiate Samantha’s memories of the labyrinth, an underground prison, apparently with no way out, in which someone forced the young woman to play games and solve riddles and puzzles, rewarding her successes and punishing her failures. Also eager to solve the mystery is Bruno Genko, a private investigator with a surprising talent. He doesn’t have much longer left to live and, as such, Samantha’s could be the last case Bruno works on.
