Le Centre de la cinématographie grec annonce les premiers bénéficiaires de ses aides 2019

The Greek Film Centre (GFC) has announced its first round of funding pre-approvals for 2019, which covers 18 projects spanning four different programmes. The support granted totals over €1,766,000, and the GFC has also confirmed that, from now until 2022, a total amount of €4 million will be provided to new productions.
More precisely, 16 projects will be supported by the GFC under the Basic Film Production Program, which covers submissions from February 2017 to January 2018. Out of the 24 projects submitted, ten were approved for production support. The selection includes Panos H Koutras’ (Xenia [+lire aussi :

fiche film]) international co-production Dresden Porcelain Dolls (Inkas Film Productions); and the coming-of-age, gay folk tale Peter and the Wolf by first-time feature filmmaker Thanasis Neofotistos (Argonauts SA), who has received a slew of awards for his short films.

Finally, in the Program of Incentives to Attract Foreign Productions to Greece (for which the movies must have a Greek producer as a minority partner), Do Not Hesitate by Shariff Korver (The Intruder [+lire aussi :

fiche film]) has been selected, with Heretic serving as the Greek producer. In the Production Program for Films for Children, I Omada tou Pele by Marios Karamanis, produced by Argonauts SA, was the project chosen to receive the GFC’s support.
