One of the Sarajevo Film Festival’s most successful initiatives, Talents Sarajevo, is set to welcome 64 emerging directors, producers, screenwriters, actors, cinematographers, editors and film critics hailing from Southeast Europe and the Southern Caucasus. The 13th edition of the programme will take place during the 25th-anniversary Sarajevo Film Festival (16-23 August), and it once again boasts a jam-packed schedule for its participants.

As in its previous editions, the talents from the region will attend master classes and lectures, participate in discussions and hands-on workshops and, of course, enjoy film screenings during the festival. The initiative has forged a reputation as the main regional hub, and it was founded in cooperation with the Berlin International Film Festival and the Berlinale Talents programme.

Apart from its educational nature, Talents Sarajevo also introduces aspiring professionals to the world of established industry figures. For that reason, acclaimed Mexican production designer Eugenio Caballero will have the honour of opening this year’s master classes. , while more recently, he was festooned with awards and nominations for Alfonso Cuarón’s Venice winner Roma. Furthermore, Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid will give a lecture to Talents Sarajevo after the screening of his Berlinale Golden Bear-winning film Synonyms [+lire aussi :

The 64 selected talents come from 15 of the 19 eligible nations, which, once again this year, proves the role of the platform and its value to the local film communities. Turkey and Greece, with 11 and nine participants, respectively, top the selection with nearly one-third of the talents, while North Macedonia follows hot on their heels with six.
