The 25th Sarajevo Film Festival announced its awards last night at a ceremony held in the National Theatre. Ena Sendarijević's Take Me Somewhere Nice [+lire aussi :

fiche film] triumphed in the Feature Competition, winning the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Film. The Dutch-Bosnian co-production world-premiered in the Tiger Competition at Rotterdam, where it snagged a Special Mention.

In the Documentary Competition, the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Film went to the Azerbaijani-Austrian co-production When the Persimmons Grew [+lire aussi :

fiche film] by Hilal Baydarov. The picture world-premiered at Visions du Réel, where it picked up the Jury Prize and the Interreligious Prize.
Hungarian director Réka Szabó's The Euphoria of Being [+lire aussi :

fiche film], which world-premiered and triumphed in Locarno's Critics’ Week just days ago, received the Human Rights Award. Bosnian filmmaker Sajra Subašić was given the Special Jury Prize for her seven-minute documentary Stack of Material.
Finally, the Heart of Sarajevo for Best Short Film went to Serbian filmmaker Stefan Đorđević for The Last Image of Father, which came straight from Locarno, where it picked up the Youth Jury Prize.
