The South-Eastern European (SEE) Cinema Network, which held its annual general assembly on 7 November in Thessaloniki during the 60th Thessaloniki International Film Festival, has announced its latest slate of funding, which amounts to €128,000 in total. Eight feature-film projects, one from each of the network’s member states, which are currently at the development stage, will be supported with €8,000 each, while 11 short films will also receive total support of €64,000.

Each of the eight states in the network – Albania, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania and Serbia – submitted two projects, and the requirement was that they must have secured financing from their home funding bodies and must have at least one co-production company attached from another country in the network.

The SEE Cinema Network is an initiative that was founded by the Greek Film Centre in 2003 and has funded more than 100 co-productions since its inception.

The recipients are as follows: Luna Park by Florenc Papas (Albania), produced by On Film Production; Through the Ministry of Lost Time by Kyros Papavassiliou (Cyprus), staged by AMP Filmworks; Behind the Haystacks by Asimina Proedrou (Greece), produced by Argonauts Productions; Woman of the House by Fatos Berisha (Kosovo), staged by B2 Films; Forever Hold Your Peace by Ivan Marinović (Montenegro), produced by Adriatic Western; Sabattier Effect by Eleonora Veninova (North Macedonia), staged by DNF Films; Death and the Maiden by Adina Pintilie (Romania), produced by Manekino Film; and Heart of Darkness by Stevan Filipović (Serbia), staged by Art & Popcorn.
