Nine projects hailing from South East Europe and the MENA region have been selected for the CineLink Work In Progress, one of the main sections of the Sarajevo Film Festival’s CineLink Industry Days, which this year will be held entirely online from 15-20 August.

The new feature-length films — 7 fiction features and 2 documentaries — will be presented to a selected audience of film industry professionals, while the jury comprising Vanja Kaludjercic (International Film Festival Rotterdam), Tobias  Pausinger (The Match Factory), Elise Jalladeau (Thessaloniki International Film Festival), Petra Gober (The Post Republic), and Esra Demir Kiran (Turkish National Radio Television), will hand out the three awards that the participants are competing for.

Amra Bakšić Čamo, head of CineLink, commented: “This year's selection is one of the possible answers to the question of how the film industry is responding to the pandemic. We have received more than 70 projects at different stages of production and even these numbers demonstrate that regional cinema is alive and kicking.  Nine exciting, completely different film projects will be presented to a selected group of industry representatives looking to find a way to the audience. Our Work in Progress platform is of even greater importance to the filmmakers and decision makers dealing with the ongoing reality of an interrupted film chain.”

After the first batch of the selected projects of the CineLink Co-Production Market was announced in May (read the news), nine more titles are now completing the selection. Among the new additions are the upcoming projects One Month by Bulgaria’s writer-director Maya Vitkova-Kosev (Viktoria), The Otter by Bosnian filmmaker Srđan Vuletić (It’s Hard to Be Nice) and the sophomore projects Rattlesnakes by Serbian director Nikola Ljuca (Humidity [+lire aussi :
