People who pay a visit to Abycine never forget it: at this gathering, one always feels part of a huge reunion among friends, as it serves as a meeting point for the freshest and most innovative content that Spanish cinema has to offer. José Manuel Zamora’s team has been working tirelessly to ensure that this is always the case, and in 2020, given the circumstances, the 22nd edition of the Albacete Independent Film Festival will also have a virtual element, having partnered with Filmin. In addition, it has secured support from CMMedia and its platform CMMPlay, through which it is opening a portal to viewers, who will be able to discover content from the Made in Castilla La Mancha section, AB Audiovisual and an archive of the festival’s previously screened films, and even vote for the best short film.

Besides all this, Abycine is continuing in its unflinching belief in short films as an essential talent pool for the film industry: the 23 titles selected can be seen at Abycine Cortos, a festival recognised with the AIC seal of quality and a shortlist event for fiction and documentary shorts for the Goya Awards. During the opening gala of this gathering – the poster for which has been designed by Joaquín Reyes as a fond homage to late genius José Luis Cuerda – the Lifetime Achievement Award will be handed out to actress Lola Dueñas, who has recently graced the billing of Love Me Not [+lire aussi :
