The Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT SA) has announced that it is supporting 14 Greek and international co-productions at its latest round of financing. This is the latest slate of funding announced in 2020, amounting to a total of €940,000, which is in accordance with the rule that broadcasters should allocate 1.5% of their gross income to Greek cinema. The 14 selected projects – 5 fiction features, 6 international co-productions and 3 documentaries – were submitted from 1 January to 30 April 2020.
The five selected fiction projects, which have received support totalling €510,000, include the new features by Giorgos Georgopoulos‘ (Not to Be Unpleasant, But We Need to Have a Serious Talk) Patty Is Such a Girly Name (producer: Faliro House Productions) and Periklis Hoursoglou’s (The Building Manager) Ekseliksi (Soul Productions) along with three debutant directors, Thelgia Petraki’s Mikro Chroniko Trelas (Top Spot), Amerissa Basta’s Life In A Beat (Soul Productions), and Dimitris Katsimiris’ Me Aksioprepia (Frau Films).
Six international co-productions with a Greek producer on board will be funded with €295,000 by ERT SA. They are the sophomore feature by Catalunya’s Nely Reguera (María (and Everybody Else) [+lire aussi :

Finally, three documentaries are being supported to the tune of €135,000. The feature-length titles are the latest project from writer-director Angelos Kovotsos (Europe, the Dream [+lire aussi :

fiche film]), entitled When I Went to America (Smiling Sketches); Lithi/To Lenaki by Dimitris Indares (Marital Woes), which is also being produced by the director; and Bras de fer by Yorgos Goussis (Oh My Dog Production).
