is ready for release. The duo of brothers is probably best known for JeruZalem, a sci-fi horror starring Yael Grobglas, Yon Tumarkin and Danielle Jadelyn in the lead roles and released in 2015.

Variety, which first reported the news, dropped the picture’s first trailer this week. The script, based on a true story and Israeli historian Dina Porat’s book Nakam, is set in Germany in 1945. It follows a man called Max (played by August Diehl), a Holocaust survivor, who meets a group of Jewish vigilantes. Together they develop a plan to take monstrous revenge against the German people for the Holocaust: to poison the water system in Germany and kill 6 million Germans.

) and Michael Aloni (the TV series Shtisel, Happy Times).

The two helmers reported having interviewed real-life conspirators, known as “The Avengers”, and described their film as “a gripping true story that deals with the most primal and natural human instinct – pure revenge”, giving “the audience a new perspective about the Holocaust” and confronting “powerful feelings of revenge, justice and morality”.

Plan A is being produced by Skady Lis for Getaway Pictures (Germany) and Minu Barati of Jooyaa Film (Germany), and co-produced by Chilik Michaeli and Avraham Pirchi for Israel’s UCM. Munich-based firm Global Screen is the film’s international sales agent, which recently sealed a raft of distribution deals. The drama will be released by Menemsha Films in North America; Signature in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand; New Select in Japan; Twelve Oaks Pictures in Spain; NOS Lusomundo in Portugal; Danal Entertainment in South Korea; and CaiChang in Taiwan.
