The story of 12 Hours to Destruction, penned by the filmmaker herself, is set in the summer of 1980. 11-year old Hanna and the rest of her childhood band aim to bring criminals to justice when a threat to destroy the last school dance comes their way. Their ensuing adventure pits good vs evil and disco vs punk, and ends with love and unity conquering all.

The main cast includes actors Ísabella Jónatansdóttir, Óttar Kjerulf Thorvardarson and Vilhjálmur Árni Sigurdsson. Meanwhile, the main technical crew members are DoP Ásgrímur Gudbjartsson, production designer Systa Björnsdóttir, editor Lína Thoroddsen, sound designer Arnthór Örlygsson, make-up and prosthetics artist Hafdís Kristín Lárusdóttir alongside composers Thorvaldur Bjarni Þorvaldsson and Dr. Gunni.

12 Hours to Destruction is an Icelandic-Finnish co-production. The feature is being produced by Júlíus Kemp and Ingvar Thórdarson for The Icelandic Film Company. Co-producers are Markus Selin and Jukka Helle for Solar Films, Hilmar Sigurdsson for Sagafilm, and Nanna Kristín Magnúsdóttir for CUBS Productions.
