Les gagnants du festival Edimotion 2021

Cet article est disponible en anglais.

Edimotion is the oldest festival in Europe to focus exclusively on the editing process. This year, the Cologne festival celebrated its 21st edition, offering once more a platform specifically to features, documentaries and short films from the German-speaking region. With film screenings but also panels and workshops, the festival encourages the dialogue between filmmakers and their audience.

Besides a special focus this year on films from the UK, the main programme is organised into three main sections: feature films, documentaries, and short films, and a best editing prize goes to one project in each category. Among the feature films nominated were The Trouble with Being Born [+lire aussi :

Both juries together also decided on the winners of a special prize named “The Edit Space,” endowed with € 2,500. It went to the young editing duo Famil Aghayev and Fabio Thieme for their work on the mockumentary and short film Suite by Fabio Thieme.

Each year, the festival also pays a tribute to an editor for his or her career. With Ingrid Koller, this edition honoured for the first time an Austrian editor (The Best of All Worlds [+lire aussi :

).

Artistic director Kyra Scheurer and administrative director Jenny Krüger draw a positive conclusion on this year's edition of the festival, that earned on top of everything the label of being the first festival in North Rhine-Westphalia to take place on a complete climate-neutral basis, by reducing CO2 emission on every level.
