), begins when the woman is off with her two kids on a fishing trip and the worst imaginable thing happens: while playing with his sister out of his mother’s sight, six-year-old Ulrik falls into the river and drowns in the heavy streams. Elin is left with her ten-year-old daughter Storm, struggling to get their life back on track when a classmate claims to have seen Storm deliberately push her brother into the river. The accusations quickly spread in the small community. Elin fiercely defends her daughter, but as her own narrative waivers she is forced to face the truth about what really happened that day by the river.

Storm is Calmeyer's debut feature following her graduation from the Norwegian Film School in 2014 and her recent direction of the TV series Twin and Young Royals.

"The impossible dilemma that Elin is confronted with in this story is something I have carried with me for many years. For me, the film is about motherhood and how we can go to any extreme to protect our children. I am grateful that so many gifted people wanted to be a part of this and when we got Ane Dahl Torp on board as the lead, it all came together. I am happy and proud to get the chance to tell this story," said Calmeyer.

"We are really pleased that the talented director Erika Calmeyer makes her feature film debut with Paradox. When she first came to us with the script, we were taken by how she and fellow screenwriter Johan Fasting had raised some really interesting questions, and turned it into an intriguing story with a lot of unexpected twists and turns. I'm glad we took on the project and look forward to presenting it to the world," added producer Finn Gjerdum.

Storm is being produced by Finn Gjerdrum and Stein B. Kvea for Norway’s Paradox and Sweden’s SF Studios, with backing from the Norwegian Film Institute. The feature is expected to hit Norwegian cinemas later this autumn, followed by an international release. SF Studios is in charge of its Nordic distribution, whilst REinvent handles its international sales.
