; Lidén’s own mother suffered from the same illness, and the helmer moved in with William to understand his condition. Presented as “a modern folk-horror tale that confronts us with what it means to suffer from a condition that is not recognised by the rest of the world”, Electric Malady is set to world-premiere in the NORDIC:DOX competition of this year’s CPH:DOX (23 March-3 April).

The feature was produced by Aimara Reques for Aconite Productions (UK), and co-produced by Su Bainbridge and Lorna Jane Ferguson, in association with Beth Allan, for Forest of Black (UK). It also received backing from Screen Scotland and Chicken & Egg Pictures.
