Live Life will be Viaplay’s next Original. The new eight-part drama series will be helmed by first-time director Susanne Thorson (best known for playing Åse Paulsson in the TV series Alex), and toplined by Swedish Kristallen winner Hanna Ardéhn (the TV series Quicksand [+lire aussi :

The show, currently filming in Stockholm, revolves around three friends suddenly faced with a devastating turn of events. The tumour discovered in 24-year-old Nora’s (Hanna Ardéhn) stomach is big – but her dreams and plans are bigger. Refusing to give up hope, Nora continues her journalism career, despite exhausting chemotherapy sessions and the constant fear of death. Together with her friends Alina (Tina Pour Davoy) and Doris (Doreen Ndagire), she is ready to live life. The script was penned by Carl-Petter Montell, Vera Herngren and Felicia Danielsson, based on an idea by Susanne Thorson and Lovisa Ström.
Speaking about her role, Ardéhn said: “I’m so grateful to be part of telling this story. The way that death makes every moment precious is something that really moves me. This role will be both a physical and a mental challenge, and I’m happy to have such a fantastic team around me.”
Filippa Wallestam, Viaplay Group’s chief content officer, added: “Our latest Original is a young-adult show with something to say to everyone. Live Life brings a hopeful perspective to one of the toughest situations a person can go through. The hugely talented team, which includes some of the biggest new Nordic stars, completely wowed us with their pitch – and I’m sure they’ll do the same to Viaplay viewers with this unforgettable show.”
Live Life is being produced by Moa Blom Kornblad for Sweden’s FLX. The executive producers are FLX’s Julia Lennartsson and Jonas Åhlund, and Viaplay Group’s Oskar Arulf. The series will be distributed globally by Viaplay Content Sales. It will premiere exclusively on Viaplay next year.
