On Monday 14 November, Europa Distribution will hold a workshop dedicated to the distribution of documentaries at the IDFA - International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam. Around 25 independent distributors, all members of the European network of independent film distributors and publishers, will participate in a session organised in collaboration with IDFA as part of their Industry Programme.

The closed workshop will host case studies on recent European and international documentaries released by Europa Distribution’s members in different countries. At this occasion, Distributors Gábor Böszörményi (Mozinet, Hungary), Kim Foss (Camera Film, Denmark), Mika Siltala (Cinema Mondo, Finland), Vera Herchenbach & Rufus Richardson (Madman Entertainment, Australia), Jonas Pedersen Hardebrant (Doc Lounge, Sweden), Anastasia Plazzotta (Wanted Cinema, Italy) and Andrea Romeo (I Wonder Pictures, Italy) will share their experience regarding their publishing work, release strategies and promotional campaigns for several documentaries released recently. They will present detailed analysis, focusing on audience targeting and admissions results, marketing campaigns and partnerships, theatrical exploitation and/or VOD releases, on the following films: The Velvet Queen [+lire aussi :

Thanks to the Europa Distribution – IDFA partnership, attending distributors will also participate in the IDFA activities, including works in progress and special screenings, meetings and networking events, looking for the next documentaries to release.

Europa Distribution will continue discussing with its members, film professionals and experts about the specific challenges of releasing and promoting independent European films with its next activities in February at EFM in Berlin for its next annual conference, and in March at Cartoon Movie in Bordeaux for an event on case studies of animated films released recently, and at Sofia Meetings for its Communication and Negotiation process workshop.
