Filming began a few days ago on location in Palma de Mallorca for Un paseo por el Borne, Nick Igea’s debut film starring Rodolfo Sancho (recently seen in The Man from Rome), Natalia Verbeke (recently in the series Todos mienten [+lire aussi :

fiche film]). The cast is completed by Tábata Cerezo, Roque Ruiz, Lluis Oliver and Toni Lluis.

The director himself co-wrote the screenplay with Elio Quiroga (La estrategia del pequinés [+lire aussi :

fiche film]), and with it they celebrate independent, auteur and local cinema while offering a hopeful outlook on the reality around us.

The film is based on Martín (played by Sancho), who is almost fifty but has not yet achieved his dream of becoming a film director. He returns to his hometown to teach five students, who will help him regain his passion for the seventh art. At first, it will be an insignificant course, but one that will change the lives of all the characters.

"This is, above all things, a film about overcoming and hope. "Within the tone of a dramedy," he continues, "this is a positive film, about impossible dreams and how people influence each other. It is a film made from the heart, told from its most humanist perspective the great love of cinema that many of us feel", he concludes. 

Un paseo por el Borne is produced by Un paseo por el Borne A.I.E. with the participation of IB3 and the collaboration of the Govern de les Illes Balears, Consell de Mallorca, Ayuntamiento de Palma, Fundació Mallorca Turisme, Institut d'Estudis Baleàrics and Madrid Film Office. The film was selected to participate in the projects in development section at the 2014 Montpellier International Mediterranean Film Festival. The Catalan company Filmax will distribute the film in Spain.
