The 33rd edition of the World Festival of Animated Film - Animafest Zagreb (5-10 Jun) wrapped on Saturday night with Russian director Varya Yakovleva's Oneluv winning the Grand Prix in the Grand Competition Short Film category, while Latvian filmmaker Signe Baumane received the same prize in the Grand Competition Feature Film section for My Love Affair with Marriage [+lire aussi :

The same jury handed the Golden Zagreb Award for Creativity and Innovative Artistic Achievement to Joseph Pierce for the French-British-Czech-Belgian film Scale, while the Zlatko Grgić Award for the best first film made outside an educational institution went to the short A Kind of Testament by France's Stephen Vuillemin.

As per Animafest tradition, each of the jury members – Hugo Covarrubias, Hisko Hulsing, Tal Kantor, Aneta Ozorek and Vuk Jevremović – gave a Special Mention to one of the short films, which you can find below in the full list of award winners, while the feature-film jury, consisting of Mohamed Ghazala, Ivana Guljašević Kuman and Ferenc Mikulás, decided to give its Special Mention to Tibor Bánóczki and Sarolta Szabó's White Plastic Sky [+lire aussi :

The combined jury of the Student Film Competition and the Croatian Film Competition, comprising Laura Gonçalves, Pavel Horáček and Irena Jukić Pranjić, opted to grant the Dušan Vukotić Award for Best Student Film to Hungary's Vivien Hárshegyi for Above the Clouds. The first Special Mention went to the Japanese film Sewing Love by Xu Yuan and the second to the California Institute of the Arts production Fur by Zhen Li.

Lucija Mrzljak and Morten Tšinakov's Eeva, a co-production between Estonia's Eesti Joonisfilm and Croatia's Adriatic Animation, won in the Croatian Film Competition. The winner of the VR Animation Competition, All Unsaved Progress Will Be Lost by France's Mélanie Courtinat, was chosen by the jury consisting of Reinhold Bidner, Michelle Kranot and Andrijana Ružić.

Socks for the Star by Russia's Olga Titova won in the Films for Children Competition. The Mr M Audience Award for short films went to Ice Merchants by Portugal's João Gonzalez, while the equivalent prize for a feature will be announced at a later date.
