In Boiling Point, eight months after her mentor Andy Jones (Stephen Graham) suffered a heart attack, head chef Carly (Vinette Robinson) is battling to forge a name for new Dalston restaurant Point North alongside her old kitchen crew. We will follow the team as the stresses of keeping the restaurant running bear down on them amidst a hospitality industry in crisis. With the pressure to draw in new, hungry customers and the financial squeeze to keep the business profitable, the team must find a way to manage their complicated personal lives whilst creating quality food day in, day out. The first-look pictures also reveal the presence of actors Ahmed Malek (starring as Musa), Daniel Larkari (Jake), Stephen McMillan (Jamie), Hannah Walters (Emily), Taz Skylar (Billy) and Shaun Fagan (Bolton).
Boiling Point is being staged by Ascendant Fox (a joint venture between two of the production companies involved in staging the original film, Ascendant Films and Burton Fox Films) and Matriarch Productions, in conjunction with Made Up Productions, for the BBC. It will air later this year on BBC One and iPlayer. The series producer is Graham Drover, whilst the executive producers are Hester Ruoff and Bart Ruspoli for Ascendant Fox, Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham for Matriarch Productions, Philip Barantini for Made Up Productions, together with Samantha Beddoe, and Rebecca Ferguson for the BBC. International distribution is being handled by BBC Studios.
