). The romantic drama, which unfolds in the aftermath of World War I and the Irish Civil War, centres on Seamus Óg Mac Grianna (Cooper), an Irish lighthouse keeper who has created an isolated life for himself as penance for a tragedy he feels he should have prevented. His only company and housekeeper, Maire (Bolger), enables him to remain closed off from the world while quietly waiting for him to see her. His meticulously structured routine begins to fracture when he meets Edith (Sarah Gadon), an outspoken American war widow whose desire for closure changes Seamus.
