After being released from a juvenile detention center, Wellington finds himself alone and adrift on the streets of São Paulo, without any contact from his parents and lacking the resources to rebuild his life. He encounters Ronaldo, a mature man, who teaches him new ways of surviving. Gradually, their relationship turns into a conflicting passion.

Marcelo Caetano was born in Belo Horizonte in 1982, and is based in São Paulo since 2004. He directed his first film Electric Body in 2017 and collaborated in more than 20 feature films as assistant director and casting director. Baby was produced by Ivan Melo for CUP Filmes (BR) and Roberto Tibiriçá for Plateau Produções (BR) and co-produced by Juliette Lepoutre and Pierre Menahem for Still Moving (France), Stienette Bookslopper for Circe Films (Netherlands), John Baars for Kaap Holland Film (Netherlands) and Marcelo Caetano himself for Desbun Filmes (Brasil). Germany's m-appeal is managing its world sales.
