Polly Findlay’s debut feature, a drama titled Midwinter Break, has wrapped filming in Scotland and entered post-production. The Olivier Award-winning filmmaker’s picture is toplined by Ciarán Hinds (The Dry, The English, Kin) and Lesley Manville (Back to Black [+lire aussi :

fiche film], The Critic, The Crown), who respectively play Gerry and Stella, an Irish couple living in Scotland who take a trip to Amsterdam, where their relationship reaches a crossroads. The project has been adapted for the screen by Nick Payne (We Live in Time [+lire aussi :

“In mid-April of this year, crews were seen preparing a Christmas set in and around Kelvinside Hillhead Parish Church in Hyndland, Glasgow, with fake snow being placed on the ground outside and Christmas trees being propped up at the altar inside the church,” states iftn.ie, one of the outlets first reporting the news.
Midwinter Break is being produced by Guy Heeley for British firm Shoebox Films. The project was developed with Film4, which executive-produced and co-financed the movie. Protagonist Pictures is in charge of its world sales.

The release date is yet to be disclosed.
