- heads up the cast as a veteran cop whose career is hanging by a thread and who will have to take charge, whether he likes it or not, of an armoured car robbery. But he will have the unexpected help of a young aspiring policewoman, played by Natalia Azahara (whom we saw in A través de tu mirada and who will soon be in Estación Rocafort). Together, despite their antagonistic personalities, they will confront a violent gang of thieves.

), Pavel Anton (Valle de sombras), Cristina Kovani, Oleg Kricunova, Peter Nikolas, Javier Albalá, Patricia Vico, Rocío Muñoz-Cobo, Bernabé Fernández, Richard Holmes and Mario Zorrilla.

This tense feature was shot on location in the Madrid region and in Segovia. According to Calparsoro, “From the very first page, the script grabs you and doesn't let go,” and he describes the film as “an action-thriller with human undertones where the characters are powerfully projected. A story of people pushed to their limits.”

The plot by Arturo Ruíz Serrano (co-author of series such as Sequía, Iron Reign and the upcoming Cuando nadie nos ve by Enrique Urbizu) tells the story of how an unprecedented snowstorm devastates Spain on 5 January. Amidst the chaos of a collapsed motorway, a group of robbers seize this opportunity to hold up an armoured car. Just a few metres away is Leo (Antonio Resines), a policeman on his last legs who has nothing to lose. With the unexpected help of a young woman (Natalia Azahara), they try to stop the gang from fleeing with the loot in a chase against the clock in the middle of the storm.

Mikaela - whose initial/provisional title was AP6: infierno en la autopista - is a production by Atresmedia Cine together with La Terraza Films, Atlantia Media, Ikiru Films and AP6 La Película AIE. It is being produced by Jaime Ortiz de Artiñano, Javier Ugarte and Jorge Sánchez Gallo, with Rosa Pérez and Laura Castro Otero as executive producers. It includes the participation of the ICAA, Atresmedia, Netflix and Vodafone. Buena Vista International Spain will manage its release, scheduled for 31 January 2025.
