Set in the present day, the plot kicks off with a murder that uncovers an international operation and leads the protagonists on a race against time to uncover a traitor in their ranks as they try to dismantle a conspiracy led by the enigmatic Russian agent Volkov. According to its makers, the series will offer an intimate look at the challenges faced by intelligence officers as they navigate between duty, loyalty and betrayal.
Its ensemble cast is headed by Juan Diego Botto (Goya nominated several times and recently seen in The Room Next Door [+lire aussi :

David Ulloa comments that, “as El Centro is a spy series, the challenge was not to stop there but to give it a twist, going as deep as we could into each of our characters. We directors are not so different from these spies: emotional vampires who sneak into people's private lives and observe without being seen. Through this we will understand our protagonist's commitment to a higher cause, despite the sacrifice it entails.” He goes on to say, “how do you keep this fine balance between your vocation as a member of the CNI and family stability? How do you manage not to lose your sanity in this world of half-truths, mistrust and sometimes betrayal? We will direct from the shadows, with a well-prepared cover and hoping that our presence goes by unnoticed,” he concludes.
El Centro is a Movistar Plus+ original series in collaboration with Fonte Films. Its executive producers are Susana Herreras and Fran Araújo (Movistar Plus+) and Pablo Isla, Carla Pérez de Albéniz and Fátima Dapena (Fonte Films). It is exported by Movistar Plus+ International.
