Lancement de l'alliance F.A.M.E

Cet article est disponible en anglais.

Film and Audiovisual Markets in Europe (F.A.M.E.) is a union of 24 European organisations, such as film festivals, their industry programmes, forums and market events. Its mission is to be a foundation on which the film, television and virtual ecosystem is built. It is also a joint effort by different market events aiming to provide support for projects from their early development stages, via research and financing, up to future distribution. “In a constantly changing European context, where global players are on the rise, strengthening the European film and audiovisual ecosystem will require stronger industrial platforms to ensure the continued quality and competitiveness of our European culture and works,” the members stated.

Aware of the challenges posed by digital and environmental transitions, F.A.M.E. Alliance members commit to fostering a positive horizontal cooperation and dialogue between them, facilitating the organic growth of all players involved. The goal is to actively participate in the construction of a dynamic, economically and environmentally sustainable, inclusive and diverse structure for the European and global cinema and audiovisual industry, but also to ensure that Europe remains a space for the thriving democracy that enables independent creation, diversity in storytelling, and offers small national cinemas the chance to find their own creative voices.

The Alliance is committed to preserving the key relevance of the concept of physical markets, with a highlight on their members’ diversity, further fostering the variety of genres and technologies that build and sustain a prosperous and inclusive industry, building a unique platform collecting the constant updates of the members’ data, as well as establishing facilitated communication with regional, national and European funding agencies. The collective actions of the Alliance promise to have significant positive effects, such as increased investment in new projects, better access to financing and improved professional training opportunities for new talent to navigate the complexities of the market.
