The sixth Dot.on.the.map Industry Days, a co-production, training and networking platform for film professionals, will take place in Limassol, Cyprus, from 10-12 April. The event offers filmmakers a significant opportunity to connect with key representatives of the international film industry. Submissions for this year’s selection can be sent in until 17 January.
The platform is running within the framework of the 23rd Cyprus Film Days International Festival, unspooling from 4-12 April. The festival is an institutional event of the Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Culture, hosted by the Department of Contemporary Culture in collaboration with the Rialto Theatre.
Dot.on.the.map Industry Days aims to bring together producers, directors and scriptwriters from the Mediterranean region and the neighbouring continents of Europe, Africa and Asia. By fostering these connections, the platform nurtures artistic collaborations and financial synergies, solidifying Cyprus as a creative hub for the film industry.
A central feature of the event is the Dot.on.the.map Meeting Point co-production forum, which selects six to ten feature-length fiction film projects at the development or financing stage. Selected filmmakers participate in pitching sessions, presenting their projects to a diverse group of industry professionals, including producers, financiers, sales agents, distributors and festival representatives. One-on-one meetings further facilitate meaningful partnerships. This initiative is supported by Agora, the industry platform of the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, adding substantial value to the forum’s co-production network.
In addition to the Meeting Point, Dot.on.the.map Cinema Talks offers master classes, panel discussions, seminars and workshops led by renowned industry figures. Open to film professionals and accredited festival guests, this series aims to foster professional growth and provide insights into the evolving landscape of filmmaking. Details of the Cinema Talks programme will be announced soon.
Applications for the Meeting Point forum are open to projects originating from the Mediterranean region. Filmmakers can find detailed guidelines, eligibility criteria and the application process on the official Cyprus Film Days website.
With its dual focus on collaboration and education, Dot.on.the.map Industry Days remains a vital platform for advancing film projects and fostering connections within the global film community. By nurturing these relationships, the event strengthens the region's creative ecosystem and provides international professionals with a window onto Mediterranean filmmaking.
