As liñas descontinuas, the second feature film directed by Anxos Fazáns (The Wild Season [+lire aussi :

fiche film]), has recently finished shooting on location in Vigo and Marín (Pontevedra) and is now starting its post-production phase. Shot in Galician, the film stars Mara Sánchez (an actress who has appeared in series such as Cocaine Coast and Libro de familia and in the films Once Upon Another Time (2000) and La novia de medianoche (1997)), and Adam Prieto, in his acting debut after being selected in casting tests that lasted a year. Additionally, the soundtrack of the feature film is supported by the bands Triángulo de Amor Bizarro and The Rapants, and the artists Pálida and Russ.

The film, inspired by a news article that Fazáns read in a newspaper and co-written with Ian de la Rosa (who has already worked on series such as Veneno [+lire aussi :
critique
fiche série] and Vestidas de azul and is preparing his debut film Iván & Hadoum –read interview–), tells how Bea, a 50-year-old music producer, is going through a tough time as she is separating from her husband. The day she has to leave the home where she has lived for twenty years, she finds everything a mess and someone asleep in her bed: Denis, 28, who, despite having a degree, struggles with job insecurity and lack of opportunities. After partying with his friends, the boy has sneaked into her house. Instead of calling the police, the two strangers will spend three days together. But after that time, they must each go their separate ways.

According to the filmmaker, “As liñas descontinuas is about union, about how magical it is when two or more seemingly different people can connect, stop feeling alone and come together to form part of a whole. In that sense, it was important that the filming itself was done in this way, as a safe working space. Thanks to the involvement of all the crew and performers, we have managed to turn this filming into an experience. Now it's time to continue to put our heart and soul into the editing and post-production processes,” she concludes.

“We are very happy with the work carried out by the team, led by Anxos,” say the producers Silvia Fuentes (Sétima) and Nuria Landete (Sideral), "and we hope that the film will pique the interest of audiences wanting to enjoy stories like this one in a cinema." Because, according to those involved, this feature film represents a revival of Galician cinema, touching on social (including queer), contemporary and urban themes that connect with several generations.

As liñas descontinuas is a production by Sétima and Sideral which is supported by the ICAA, AGADIC and CRTVG; after having participated in the script labs of Sources 2, Madrid Film School's ECAM Incubator, Novos Cinemas Lab and the third edition of the Film Academy Summer Campus (Valencia). It will be released in Spanish cinemas next year, distributed by Sideral.
