Based on the script written by Desirée de Fez, Carlos de Diego and Padial himself, Pizza Movies narrates the ups and downs of a couple who, in the midst of a professional crisis, decide to leave everything behind and start a new business. But not just any business...

According to Padial himself, “It's a crazy and very human comedy about the importance of pursuing your dreams and realizing your potential as a person, even when those dreams seem absurd and impossible.” For co-scriptwriter Desirée de Fez, “the film is based on the desire to make a positive, happy, cheerful comedy that serves as a vehicle for great actors such as Berto Romero and Judit Martín, in the spirit of the wonderful comedies made by Mel Brooks, Hal Ashby and Albert Brooks in the late 60s, 70s and even 80s, when American comedy exuded a sense of countercultural freedom.” Carlos de Diego adds, “Pizza Movies reflects the disenchantment of a generation that has endured multiple economic crises and suffers the consequences of personal dissatisfaction. The film acts as an allegory of a very abrasive present, where human beings and their dreams matter less and less, leaving no room for dreaming—and, therefore, no room for cinema.”

Carlo Padial (Barcelona, 1977) is a film director, writer and screenwriter. He has written and directed the feature films Mi loco Erasmus, Algo muy gordo, Taller Capuchoc and Vosotros sois mi película [+lire aussi :
