, and the acclaimed TV series Katla.

His new film boasts a high-profile cast led by Charlize Theron, Taron Egerton, and Eric Bana.

The feature, penned by Jeremy Robbins (the TV series The Purge, Aftermath), follows a grieving woman who retreats into the wilderness, only to find herself locked in a perilous game of cat and mouse with a serial killer.

Filming began in February across various locations in Sydney and Western Sydney, with key sequences scheduled from 3-8 March in Glenbrook Gorge, where a unit base has been established at Lapstone Oval.

Apex is produced by Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready for Chernin Entertainment (USA); Ian Bryce for Ian Bryce Productions (UK); Charlize Theron, Beth Kono, and AJ Dix for Secret Menu (USA); and Baltasar Kormákur for RVK Studios (Iceland). Drone cinematography is provided by US-based company Xm2 Pursuit, whilst executive producers Ray Angelic, Will McCance, and Dawn Olmstead oversee the project for Secret Menu. Moreover, the production benefits from the support of the New South Wales government and The Australian Government's Location Offset.

The release date is yet to be confirmed.
