Europa Distribution is again attending the 31st edition of the New Nordic Films market, held from 19-22 August during the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund. Celebrating its enduring partnership, Europa Distribution will host an open panel titled "Dreams of Being the Nordic Loveable: promoting Nordic films internationally", which will feature case studies on the releases of Nordic films in Europe. This initiative offers an exclusive platform for independent film publishers and distributors to collaborate, exchange strategies, and broaden their horizons on the promotion and reception of Nordic films globally.

On Thursday, August 21, fifteen Europa Distribution members and many more film professionals from various countries will meet at Haugesund Public Library for an open panel discussion. Distributors Beata Mrazíková (Aerofilms, Czech Republic) and Beatrice Moia (Wanted Cinema, Italy), Hanne M. Okstad (Norwegian Film Institute, Norway), and producer Yngve Sæther (Motlys, Norway) will present case studies and enter discussions on the international release of Lilja Ingolfsdottir's Karlovy Vary Special Jury Prize winner Loveable [+lire aussi :

. The panel will offer a comparative analysis of their release strategies, covering key areas such as acquisition, marketing, press engagement, release planning, and audience reach, both theatrically and online. They will discuss how they tailored their approaches to fit the specific needs of their regions. Moderated by British journalist, moderator and film festival consultant Wendy Mitchell, the conversation will delve into broader themes, including the evolution of market trends, strategic adaptations for different cultural contexts, production and funding strategies that support the international success of Nordic cinema, and the evolving role of promoters and curators of Nordic films.

In addition to this panel, distributors will participate in festival activities, including the Nordic Co-production Market, Market Screenings and Work in Progress, One-on-One meetings, in line with the partnership between Europa Distribution and New Nordic Films.

Throughout the rest of 2025, Europa Distribution is committed to hosting a series of workshops and events tailored for distributors and film industry professionals. Upcoming engagements include the Venice Production Bridge from 28 August to 3 September, which will feature a joint working group session with producers from ACE Producers, EAVE and EPC. It will be followed by participation at the San Sebastian International Film Festival from 21-25 September, where distributors will gather for a closed workshop on script analysis and a working session with sales agents. Additionally, Europa Distribution has recently launched the latest editions of its EDMentorShe and Distributors on the Move Programmes, furthering its dedication to supporting and enhancing the film publishing and distribution landscape.
