The two actors lead an international ensemble that includes Simon Sears (Secrets We Keep), Søren Malling (Off the Record), Jason Wong (Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), Jon Xue Zhang (The Brothers Sun), Aidan Cheng (3 Body Problem), Bruce Chong (The Gentleman), Rob Kazinsky (Star Trek: Section 31), Samuel Edward-Cook (Peaky Blinders), Wade Briggs (Heads of State) and Ben Batt (Toxic Town). Academy Award-winning editor Lee Smith directs from a screenplay penned by Tony Mosher.
Inspired by the real-life Sirius Patrol, the Danish special forces unit tasked with defending Greenland’s 8,700-mile frozen coastline, Sirius is pitched as a gripping Arctic action-thriller. Pascal Degove and Matt Williams are producing for Future Artists Entertainment, with Deborah Acoca serving as the executive producer.
Commenting on the project, Degove said: “I am overjoyed that one of Britain’s most exciting young actors, Finn Cole, has joined Mads Mikkelsen to help bring this fantastic Arctic adventure to life. Their incredible on-screen chemistry, coupled with the amalgamation of both the practical and the virtual filmmaking tools which Sirius has blended, really puts this film into a genre of its own. They lead a strong ensemble of international talents who each bring real weight and authenticity to the story.”
NEON International is handling foreign sales rights and will continue selling the title at the Toronto International Film Festival, while DECAL, NEON’s speciality label, will oversee the nationwide US release.
NEON International’s current sales slate also includes Osgood Perkins’ The Young People, starring Lola Tung and Nico Parker; Damian McCarthy’s Hokum, starring Adam Scott; Takashi Miike’s upcoming feature Bad Lieutenant: Tokyo, starring Shun Oguri and Lily James; Family Movie, starring Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick; Nicolas Winding Refn’s Her Private Hell, starring Sophie Thatcher and Charles Melton; Nirvana the Band the Show the Movie by Matt Johnson and Jay McCaroll; and Chris Stuckmann’s Shelby Oaks.
