The TV Beats Co-Financing Market, the drama strand of Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event, has concluded its fifth edition by announcing this year’s award winners. Over two days of presentations, panel discussions and pitching sessions, the event once again highlighted new projects in development while strengthening ties between producers across Europe and beyond.

The Council of Europe Series Co-Production Development Award, valued at €50,000, went to Wool. Written by Birkir Blaer Ingolfsson, Mladen Maticevic, Stephie Theodora and Milena Džambasović, the drama series clearly convinced the jury. They remarked: “We have chosen a project based on a true story that knits together fashion with female empowerment in a rural-meets-international setting, making it as relevant today as it was then, backed with a soundtrack that does the same.”

The international jury included Cia Edström, head of Göteborg TV Drama Vision; Marc Lorber, founder of and consultant at The Art of Coproduction; and Clementine Trolong-Baily, representative of the Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions of the Council of Europe. The prize is intended to foster creative collaborations in series co-production and empower independent producers. It forms part of the Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions, an initiative of the Council of Europe, and is open to independent producers from all Eurimages member states.

Göteborg TV Drama Vision also handed out its Select Award to the Spanish project Dark Waters. Directed by Víctor Garcia, and written by Amèlia Mora and Héctor Manteca, the series was praised by the jury for blending “supernatural mystery, climate-change thriller and a tale intertwining the mythological worlds of Iceland and the Ebro Delta in Catalonia”. The prize is an invitation for the series in development to be showcased on stage at the Draken Cinema during TV Drama Vision. The selection was made from all pitches across all of the sections.

Public Favourite Awards were handed out again this year. A total of 496 votes were recorded for the TV Beats Co-Production Market section, with the audience choosing Nuclear Sunset Cruise as their preferred project. Written and directed by Florian Gallenberger, the project earned the highest score during and shortly after the pitching session.

Earlier in the week, the Serial Bridges Baltic Best Project Award went to the Lithuanian project Therapies, written and directed by Birutė Kapustinskaitė. The award includes an invitation to participate in the 2026 Series Mania Forum. The jury commented: “The story tackles universal themes that sadly probably affect everybody. But this tale is told as a drama-comedy, and we believe the tone is just the right fit for this subject. We believe that the all-female ensemble, offering drama and chaos but finally also support and friendship, will be a pleasure to watch.” Therapies also secured the section’s Public Favourite Award, after it received 297 votes.

The MIDPOINT Series Launch Public Favourite Award was presented to the Polish project We Are Still Here, written by Aleksandra Hulboj. This year also marked the second edition of the Honorary TV Beats Producer Awards. The recognition highlights producers whose vision, initiative and resilience have left a significant mark on the television landscape across the Nordics, the Baltics, and Central and Eastern Europe. The 2025 honourees are Norwegian producer Gudny Hummelvoll and Estonian producer Jevgeni Supin. According to the co-heads of the TV Beats Forum, Petri Kemppinen and Roosa Toivonen, the decision acknowledges not only their individual achievements, but also the essential role of producers working in smaller territories who strive to elevate local stories so that they may reach the global market.
