LIM² se met en quête d'une nouvelle génération de "Development angels"

Cet article est disponible en anglais.

Amid an industry increasingly focused on creativity and innovation, LIM² (Less Is More) has launched its 2026 call for Development Angels. The programme is tailored for producers, story editors, development executives, commissioning editors and other film professionals seeking to deepen their expertise in the crucial development phase of feature films.

The term “Development Angels” embodies LIM²’s holistic and collaborative approach to storytelling. Moving beyond the narrower role of story editors, the programme encourages teamwork among producers, sales agents, fund managers and script professionals, fostering a shared language and a set of tools that support directors and writers in realising the full potential of their stories. LIM² emphasises collaboration at a European level, exploring how creativity can open new humanist horizons in a complex world.

The programme draws on insights from cognitive sciences, anthropology and oral storytelling traditions through the StoryTANK methodology. These approaches help participants understand the creative process while guiding authors through early development, when a story’s structure, emotional core and singular vision are being shaped. By embracing constraints as opportunities, Development Angels help auteurs refine both the meaning and the architecture of their narratives.

LIM² 2026 begins with two half-day online sessions on 15 and 18 September, introducing participants to the tools and techniques they can apply in their professional practice. The programme then continues with an intensive three-day residential workshop at Le Groupe Ouest in Plounéour-Brignogan-Plages, France, from 27 September-3 October, including travel and attendance at LIM MEET, an international gathering where participants connect with filmmakers and industry professionals. During the workshop, participants work on early-stage projects and refine their feedback skills in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

Applicants must submit a biography detailing their experience and filmography, along with a three-minute, one-take, face-to-camera video titled “Tell Us”, explaining their relationship to storytelling, their expectations for the programme and their interest in exploring new development tools. Submissions must be uploaded via the online form provided on LIM²’s website.

The call is open until Sunday 26 February, noon CET, welcoming applicants from the European Union, Eurimages countries, non-EU countries participating in the Creative Europe programme and the UK.
