Now in its 14th cycle, Serial Eyes is a nine‑month, full‑time training programme designed to equip television writers and producers with the skills needed to thrive in the contemporary series landscape. Run by the Deutsche Film‑ und Fernsehakademie Berlin (DFFB), the programme combines immersive writers' room simulations, practical workshops, and close collaboration with acclaimed showrunners, producers and industry experts from all over Europe and beyond.

The curriculum emphasises hands‑on experience in writers’ rooms, opportunities to pitch projects to European broadcasters and production companies, and access to field trips and industry events that expand professional networks. The programme also fosters long‑lasting professional relationships among its alumni, many of whom have gone on to work across Europe’s creative industries.

The call is open to writers and development tutors with professional experience in screenwriting or production who are ready to commit to nine months of intensive training and creative development. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a solid track record in scripted content, typically with at least three years of industry experience and credits on produced episodes. Fluency in English and the ability to work effectively in an international environment are also required.

The application process, which closes on 9 March 2026, includes submission of a CV, personal statement, analysis of a recent television drama series, proposals for two original TV concepts, a full‑length script, and a letter of recommendation.
