Filming is under way in Malta on Danger Money, a six-part action-comedy series created by David Crow and Oliver Maltman for Prime Video. The series is being produced by Two Brothers Pictures, the company behind The Tourist and Fleabag, in association with All3Media International.

Decades after a botched mission left his reputation in tatters and his best friend dead, Alan “Razor” Sharp, a former SAS operative still plagued by guilt and desperate to rebuild his relationship with his daughter, is pulled back into the world he left behind when an old friend resurfaces with a job too good to refuse. Razor travels to Italy, only for events to spiral. Forced on the run with a motley crew made up of his impulsive “nephew” Jamaal and secretive tag-along Roxy, he is thrust into a violent conspiracy involving hidden war spoils, corrupt institutions and powerful enemies determined to keep the past buried. As Razor fights to clear his name and protect those closest to him, he must confront the truth behind the mission that destroyed his life. Because the money isn’t the only thing waiting to be uncovered.

Ray Winstone (The Gentlemen, Sexy Beast) leads the series as Alan “Razor” Sharp, while Alex Kingston (Doctor Who, A Discovery of Witches) plays Roxy and Arian Nik (Count Abdulla, Daddy Issues) stars as Jamaal. Mimi Keene (Sex Education, Towards Zero) plays the mysterious Ana, while Iain Glen (Game of Thrones, Resident Evil: Apocalypse) portrays a friend from Razor’s younger days. Kara Tointon (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping) stars as Maggie, Razor’s daughter, with Oliver Maltman as her partner, Gavin. Sean Pertwee (Gotham, Dog Soldiers) also features as Razor’s old friend.

"Roxy is a character who keeps you guessing," said Kingston. "She swings from intelligent and professional determination on the surface to emotional complexity beneath. The adventure she finds herself on leads her to a greater, empathetic understanding of the human condition. The scripts balance action, humour and heart brilliantly, and getting to play opposite such an exceptional cast is really exciting."

Nik added: "I'm buzzing to be joining this production. The scripts are hilarious, full of twists and have a lot of heart. Ray and Alex are both legends in their own right, and it's an absolute honour to be sharing this journey with them."

Creators Crow and Maltman also serve as executive producers alongside Harry and Jack Williams, Sarah Hammond, Alex Mercer and Katie Churchill for Two Brothers Pictures. Crow and Maltman have written episodes one, two and six, while Iain Hollands has penned episodes three and four, and serves as co-executive producer. Ryan O’Sullivan and Matilda Wnek have written episode five.

Carl Tibbetts is directing episodes one to three, with Charles Martin helming instalments four to six. Mick Pantaleo is producing, with Aisha Bywaters serving as casting director. Halo Pictures is providing Maltese production services with the support of the Malta Film Commission. The series is being distributed internationally by All3Media International, part of Banijay Entertainment. Danger Money will be available exclusively on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland.
