TorinoFilmLab (TFL), the international audiovisual lab organised by the National Museum of Cinema, has announced the eight projects selected for the 2026 edition of TFL Italia – Boost IT Lab, a programme dedicated to international co-production and aimed at emerging Italian and international producers and directors looking for Italian production partners.

The eight titles were selected from 61 applications submitted from 24 countries. The line-up comprises four first features, three sophomore films and one project by a more established filmmaker, for a total of six fiction films and two creative documentaries.

The programme will kick off with a series of intensive online sessions, running from 8-14 October, before continuing in person in Turin from 23-26 November. The training will focus on different aspects of development and international co-production, ranging from screenwriting and production to sustainability, sales strategies, audience design, pitching and legal matters.

The pedagogical team is headed by Head of Studies Francesco Giai Via, alongside nine international tutors: Jérémie Dubois and Chiara Laudani for screenwriting; Eilon Ratzkovsky and Nadia Trevisan for production; Dörte Schneider Garcia for sustainable production; Marcin Luczaj for sales strategies; Greta Nordio for audience design; Bonnie Williams for pitching; and Elisa Vittone for legal matters.

“It is significant that some projects that have already taken part in other TFL programmes are now coming to BIL, recognising it as an opportunity to take a further step in their journey,” commented Giai Via. According to the Head of Studies, the Italian selection also reflects “a great variety of perspectives, styles and themes”, highlighting independent producers’ efforts to find international partners and build new alliances.

As in 2025, the programme will conclude with the TFL Meeting Event, TorinoFilmLab’s co-production market, whose 19th edition will take place in Turin from 26-28 November. There, the teams will have the opportunity to present their projects to international audiovisual professionals and seek partners for the subsequent stages of development and production.

The participants also include a number of TorinoFilmLab alumni. André Hayato Saito, who took part in FeatureLab 2024 with Yellow Chrysanthemum, returns with his sophomore feature Little Faults, while Polish producer Maciej Kubicki, a SeriesLab 2017 alumnus, is accompanying Marta Prus’s The Soloist. On the Italian side, Christian Filippi is once again working with producer Leonardo Baraldi following My Birthday, while Marescotti Ruspoli and Bardo Tarantelli are continuing the collaboration they began with Amusia.
