The World of Short (WOSH) magazine has launched its Cannes issue. Initially a blog developed by Budapest-based short film platform Daazo.com, the magazine had its first paper issue launched in Berlin, last February and the Cannes’ issue is now available at the Short Film Corner of the Film Market.
Besides, Daazo’s initiative Pitch Page Project takes place for the second time this year. The Pitch Page offers appearance in the magazine for short film projects currently in pre-production. The seven best projects have been chosen by a Jury presided by Maike Mia Höhne, curator of Berlinale Shorts. These seven pitches will be featured in the magazine, on Daazo's Pitching Wall at the Short Film Corner, and a gallery of the shortlist of 15 will be available to view on Daazo.com. All projects will be displayed on Daazo's Facebook page.
The motto of the magazine, realised in cooperation with contemporary artists, is: The Whole is More than the Sum of its Parts. The popular Mapping Your Mind project has been featured in the magazine again - in this section, Cinéfondation filmmakers tell readers about their films through interesting, sometimes terrifying, sometimes mesmerizing drawings. Palme d'Or winner Maryna Vroda tells readers about her festival experience, the selector of Directors' Fortnight, Laurence Reymond offers insight into the selection process, and an infographic helps readers find their way in the maze of the Cannes short film scene. Cineuropa’s Domenico La Porta writes about cross-media, while Mátyás Mao Kálmán gives an overview of interactive film platforms.
