At the beginning of the third day of the Cannes Film Market at the 69^th Cannes Film Festival, French companies had closed some impressive sales deals with North America. 

Wild Bunch has pre-sold the North American rights to Rodin by Jacques Doillon to Cohen Media Group, based on the movie’s screenplay. The production is headed by Les Films du Lendemain, and the film will start principal photography soon, with a cast including Vincent Lindon, Izia Higelin and Séverine Caneele.

Partnering up for the occasion, The Bureau Sales and Celluloid Dreams have pre-sold the North American rights to Lean on Pete by British director Andrew Haigh (whose lead performers bagged the Best Actor and Actress Awards at Berlin last year for 45 Years [+leggi anche:

scheda film] by Dutch director Paul Verhoeven (which will have its world premiere in competition at Cannes in eight days’ time), for North America, Latin America, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe (excluding Russia), Australia, New Zealand and Asia (excluding Japan and China), from sales agent SBS International.
