I partecipanti al Producers Lab Toronto 2016

Questo articolo è disponibile in inglese.

The seventh edition of Producers Lab Toronto (6-9 September) will take place amidst the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Organised by European Film Promotion (EFP) in collaboration with the Ontario Media Development Corporation and TIFF, the Lab will see 24 producers from Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand convening to discuss project ideas, funding information, and co-production deals. The platform has nurtured several transatlantic co-productions including Irish filmmaker Alan Gilsenan’s Canada-Ireland co-production Unless that was originally presented at the 2011 Lab and will have its world premiere at TIFF this year. The film’s Irish producer Tristan Orpen Lynch will present the project’s genesis in a case study together with his Canadian partner Jennifer Kawaja to this year’s participants.

Lynch said, “Producers Lab Toronto 2011 was extremely helpful for us in setting up our Irish-Canadian co-production feature film Unless. From meeting great Canadian Producers at Sienna Films and all the funding agencies to also being able to advance the project creatively, the experience provided a great framework for the start of the collaboration. It is fitting that the completed film will now have its world premiere at TIFF 2016.”

European participants this year include Hélène Cases (Lionceau Films, France, The Last Hammer Blow [+leggi anche:
