), the story (developed within the Groupe Ouest Film Lab as part of its Annual Selection) unfolds in 1899, deep in the Hautes-Alpes region. Soudain  is a hamlet encircled by snow on the high plateaus of a remote mountain. One stormy night, its inhabitants witness the arrival of Aimée, a young, secular and republican primary school teacher who is due to stay for the winter to teach a handful of children. But shortly after her arrival, an avalanche swallows up its first highlander…

L’engloutie is produced by Margaux Juvénal and Alexis Genauzeau on behalf of Take Shelter, in co-production with Arte France Cinéma. Pre-purchased by Canal+ and Ciné+, the feature film also enjoys support in the form of an advance on receipts from the CNC, as well as backing from the Sud Paca region, the SOFICA companies Indéfilms and Cinéaxe, and the Gan Film Foundation. The 38-day film shoot will unfold exclusively in Tournage, located in the Hautes-Alpes, with Marine Atlan (The Rapture [+leggi anche:
