The Screen Flanders regional economic fund will invest a total of €1,985,000 in ten new audiovisual productions, including the upcoming movies by Stijn Coninx, Jan Verheyen and Eran Riklis.
Verheyen is currently shooting De Collega’s 2.0, a “teambuilding” comedy based on a successful 1970s series, which is being staged by Fobic Films. Coninx, whose new, eagerly awaited event movie, Don't Shoot [+leggi anche:

scheda film], will be released in October, is preparing a new film for young audiences, Sinterklaas en de wekkergek, a sequel to the adventures of Saint Nicholas, which he has already filmed one instalment of. Sylvester TV will handle production duties.

The most prominent of the international co-productions is Spider in the Web by Israeli director Eran Riklis (The Syrian Bride, Lemon Tree [+leggi anche:

The movie, starring Ben Kingsley and Monica Bellucci, is a co-production between Israel, Belgium, the Netherlands and Portugal; it is being staged in Flanders by Ciné Cri de Coeur. scheda film] (working title: The Domestique) by Kieron J Walsh (co-produced by Caviar), which offers a personal interpretation of the famous 1998 "Tour of Doping", as well as the musical drama 10 Songs for Charity by the Netherlands’ Karin Junger (Bolletjes Blues), co-produced by Minds Meet.
