scheda film], the new film by legendary documentarian Ivars Seleckis, to vie for an Academy Award nomination in the category of Best Foreign-language Film. This is Latvia's 11th Foreign-language Oscar submission, and it is the first time a documentary has been selected as the Latvian representative. 

To Be Continued is a curious and tender look at the future through the lives of seven children. "To Be Continued is about the way a human enters life,” explains film director Viesturs Kairish, a member of the Latvian Oscars committee, whose The Chronicles of Melanie [+leggi anche:

scheda film] represented the country in the Oscars race a year ago. “By submitting the film by Ivars Seleckis, we are standing up for humanism and real film art.”

Ivars Seleckis (1936), an iconic figure in Latvian cinema, was one of the faces of the Baltic school of poetic documentary. His Crossroad Street (Šķērsiela) won the European Documentary of the Year Award at the European Film Awards in 1990.
